Why are green bin collections suspended during the two week period over

time of year. As in previous years real Christmas trees can be chopped up
and placed out for collection in the green bin(s) when collections resume
as normal in January, taken to one of the organised collection points sited
around the borough or to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (Saltcotes
Road, Lytham)

I only produce small amounts of garden waste, can I share a bin with my
neighbour?

Yes, this will halve the cost of the subscription, however one of you must
take responsibility to subscribe to the service

I’m elderly or disabled and receive assistance with the bins, will this
change?

No, provided you subscribe to the collection service as you have already
been approved for the assisted collection service this will continue as
normal. The assisted collection for your other containers will also
continue.

How will the collection crew know that I have subscribed to the
service?

Your property is registered on the software used in the collection vehicle.
A sticker will also be issued by 1 April 2018 for each green bin that you
have subscribed for and must be attached as directed. We will not be able
to empty the bin if the sticker has not been attached.

I have not received a sticker, what should I do?

If you have not received a subscription sticker by 1 April 2018 please
report this via your Fylde Council account, email listening@fylde.gov.uk or
telephone Customer Services on 01253 658658.

If you have lost or damaged your subscription sticker and wish to order a
replacement please do so via your Fylde Council account. This is subject to
a £5 replacement charge

pay for a replacement container before subscribing

I am due to move into a new build property, what do I need to do?

subscribing to the service?

eligible for discount?

No, the charge is £30 per green bin regardless of when you choose to
subscribe

If I subscribe for one green bin but have a second bin at home can I
rotate the bins?

No, the collection crew will only collect the green bin which is identified
with an authorised sticker. Any bins presented with a photocopied sticker
or any other unauthorised sticker will not be emptied. If you regularly
produce more garden waste than can be accommodated in the subscribed green
bin you may wish to subscribe for the additional container

I subscribed before 1 April 2018 but now wish to add another bin(s),
what do I need to do?

If you wish to increase the number of green waste subscriptions at your
property, please log into your Fylde Council account and follow the process
to pay for an additional bin/s using a debit or credit card

What happens if I move house?

The green bin(s) must be left at the property for which you have made the
subscription, please do not take the bin(s) to your new address as the
subscription is not transferable. If you are moving to an address in the
borough and the property has already subscribed, you do not need to do
anything. If you want to join the service at your new address please
subscribe and make payment (make this a link to the subscription form) via
a debit/credit card

Do I get a refund if I decide to cancel my subscription?

In accordance with Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and
Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from acknowledgement
of the terms and conditions (make this a link to the terms and conditions)
to request a cancellation of service. We are unable to offer a refund after
this 14 day period expires

If the Council fails to empty the green bin, can I have a refund?

No, if the bin has not been emptied this may be because it contains the
wrong items, was presented after 7:30am or was too heavy to be safely
handled by the collection crew. In the unlikely event that the bin has been
missed please notify us within one working day and where possible we will
aim to return within 48 hours

I have chosen not to subscribe to the service, how can I dispose of my
garden waste?

The green waste service is entirely optional. If you have chosen not to
subscribe to the service, green waste can be composted at home, further
information on Lancashire County Council’s home composting scheme is
available at www.getcomposting.com
Alternatively, green waste can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling
Centre (Saltcotes Road, Lytham)

Will bags of additional green waste be collected from alongside a
subscribed green bin?

No. The subscription is made per bin and additional waste will not be
collected, however an extra bin can be ordered and further subscription can
be paid for if you are regularly producing large quantities of green waste.
Please note we are unable to collect any green bins that overloaded or toll
heavy to safely manoeuvre

If I place my garden waste in the grey bin will additional bags be
collected?

No. The Council operates a strict no side waste policy and the bin must be
presented for collection with the lid closed. Applications for an
additional grey bin will not be considered for the disposal of green waste,
if you wish to apply for an additional grey bin please do so via your Fylde
Council account
