I have subscribed for green waste collections, what period does this cover?
In the first year the period of subscription is 1 June 2017 to 31 March 2018
How many collections will I receive?
Green waste will continue to be collected on a fortnightly basis, except over the Christmas period. You will receive a total of 21 collections in the first year, please continue to present the wheeled bin(s) at the edge of the property by 7:30am on your scheduled collection day
What can I put in the green bin?

Why are green bin collections suspended over Christmas?
Our records show that only low amounts of green waste is collected at this time of year. As in previous years real Christmas trees can be chopped up and placed out for collection in the green bin(s) when collections resume in January, taken to one of the organised collection points sited around the borough or to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (Saltcotes Road, Lytham)
I’m elderly or disabled and receive assistance with the bins, will this change?
No, provided you subscribe to the collection service as you have already been approved for the assisted collection service this will continue as normal. The assisted collection for your other containers will also continue.
How will the collection crew know that I have subscribed to the service?
Your property is registered on the software used in the collection vehicle. A sticker will also be issued for each green bin that you have subscribed for, confirming your subscription. Households who subscribed to the service prior to 12 May 2017 will receive their first collection after the 1st June, on their normal collection day, and should receive the sticker prior to the end of June. Please note, it may take a number of weeks from subscription to receive your sticker and the first scheduled collection if you subscribed after this date.
I have not received a sticker, what should I do?
It may take a number of weeks from subscription to receive your sticker and the first scheduled collection. If you have not received a subscription sticker by the end of June please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Customer Services on 01253 658658.
I do not have a green bin but want to subscribe to the service, what do I need to do?
At the moment only households that currently receive an alternate weekly collection of grey and green bins are able to subscribe to the service. If the green bin is missing form your property and you wish to sign up for green waste collections please telephone Customer Services on 01253 658658 to order and pay for a replacement container
I am due to move into a new build property, what do I need to do?
Please check that the property you are moving into is registered on the alternative weekly collection of grey and green bins by contacting Customer Services on 01253 658658, and to order and pay for the containers before subscribing to the green waste collection service
I live in a flat/shared accommodation, who is responsible for subscribing to the service?
Please speak to your neighbours, landlord or managing agent to see if they are willing to pay for the shared green waste collection service before subscribing at the property
If I subscribe to the service half way through the year will I be eligible for discount?
No, the charge is £25 per green bin regardless of when you choose to subscribe
I subscribed before 1 June 2017 but now wish to add another bin/s , what do I need to do?
If you wish to increase the number of green waste subscriptions at your property, please log into your Fylde Council account using the user name and password you set up when you originally subscribed and follow the process to pay for an additional bin/s via debit/credit card
I am subscribing after 1 June 2017, why am I unable to set up a direct debit?
In the first year, the deadline to set up the direct debit payment was 12 May 2017, after this date please subscribe and make payment (make this a link to the subscription form) using a debit/credit card. A direct debit can then be established during the renewal process in 2018
What happens if I move house?
The green bin(s) must be left at the property for which you have made the subscription, please do not take the bin(s) to your new address as the subscription is not transferable. If you are moving to an address in the borough and the property has already subscribed, you do not need to do anything. If you want to join the service at your new address please subscribe and make payment (make this a link to the subscription form) via a debit/credit card
Do I get a refund if I decide to cancel my subscription?
In accordance with Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from acknowledgement of the terms and conditions (make this a link to the terms and conditions) to request a cancellation of service. We are unable to offer a refund after this 14 day period expires
If the Council fails to empty the green bin, can I have a refund?
No, if the bin has not been emptied this may be because it contains the wrong items, was presented after 7:30am or was too heavy to be safely handled by the collection crew. In the unlikely event that the bin has been missed please notify us within one working day and where possible we will aim to return within 48 hours
I have chosen not to subscribe to the service, how can I dispose of my garden waste?
The green waste service is entirely optional. If you have chosen not to subscribe to the service, green waste can be home composted instead, further details on Lancashire County Council’s scheme are available via www.getcomposting.com Alternatively, green waste can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (Saltcotes Road, Lytham)
Will bags of additional green waste be collected from alongside a subscribed green bin?
No. The subscription is made per bin and additional waste will not be collected however you can order a second bin and pay for an additional subscription if you are regularly producing large quantities of green waste. Please note that overloaded bins cannot be collected
If I place my garden waste in the grey bin will additional bags be collected?
No. The Council operates a strict no side waste policy and the bin must be presented for collection with the lid closed. Applications for an additional grey bin will not be considered for the disposal of green waste
